We’re back: Welcome to the voting for the Best of the Ballparks, Grapefruit League edition, for spring training 2023!
Here are the seeds for the top ballparks in Florida's spring training. We based these rankings both on the ballparks and the accompanying training facilities. This was a hard bracket to seed: there’s not a whole lot of difference between the top and the bottom of the list. There are lots of intangibles as well—tradition vs. shiny and new, workout facilities the public doesn’t see, neighborhood amenities vs. lots of parking—but we think we’ve taken all these intangibles into account. In any case, we’re eager to see how our fans vote.
Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium received the most votes in 2021—the last time we held a spring training Best of the Ballparks vote—so the spring home of the Detroit Tigers automatically received the top seed, and 2021 runner-up LECOM Park receives the #2 seed. Despite the Rays practicing and playing at both Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports and Tropicana Field, we’ll include the team’s normal home, Charlotte Sports Park, in this vote.
