From a long line of bakers and brewers, we were looking for a way to put our stamp on a family tradition. Distilled spirits was the answer. Then, the real work began. Formulations and recipes were developed to get the target taste profile from each spirit. Bottles were ordered, labels designed, knuckles were scraped. The dream became reality. We now produce an expanding line of libations and spirit-inspired wares including hand sanitizer at our distillery. Enjoy!

B.O.B.’s Brewery (est. 1997) is the first microbrewery to open in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. For over 20 years, the brewing philosophy at B.O.B.’s Brewery has remained grounded in a small set of core values: quality ingredients, time-honored brewing techniques, small-batch beers and nuanced flavor profiles. “Brewer John” Svoboda helms brewing operations at the brewery. A high school science teacher turned brewmaster, Brewer John could be called the Walter White of the West Michigan brewing scene. John has a passion for traditional German beer styles and a talent for creating unique one-offs. The small footprint of B.O.B.’s Brewery allows John the opportunity to take some risks. With risk comes reward in the form of outstanding beer like Peanut Butter Porter, Tiramisu Stout and Hoptics Gosé, to name a few. B.O.B.'s Brewery doesn't have to worry about serving beer to the entire world. We serve one beer at a time… Yours.

Over the next two decades, they built a monumental brewery at the corner of Michigan Street and Ionia Avenue, what is now the site of a state office building. Capitalizing on the location’s ample supply of fresh spring water and a refreshingly drinkable flagship beer, Silver Foam, GRBC became one of Midwest’s largest and best-known breweries.
In 1920, Prohibition brought that success story to a crashing halt. When the bans on alcohol production and sales were lifted, GRBC merged with several other breweries and eventually left town.
In 2012, Mark Sellers, founder of BarFly Ventures and owner of three other area bars, brought GRBC to downtown Grand Rapids, just 6 blocks from its original location. Today’s GRBC opened on December 5, 2012, 79 years to the day after the repeal of Prohibition.
We hope that you are as excited to experience Grand Rapids Brewing Co., as we are to provide this experience for you. GRBC is open for Dine-in, takeout, or delivery through our website. We are also open for “The Funky Brunch” on Sundays 11AM – 5PM.

In 2012 we launched in to distribution and became one of the fastest growing breweries in the state! Since then we have expanded our taproom 3 times (now close to 15,000 sq ft) and expanded our brewery to 44,000 sq ft. Recently we have brought in 6 60 barrel tanks (with plans for 6 more by the end of the year) just to keep up with demand.
Our main focus is to creatively stay on the leading edge of craft beer and hard seltzer styling. While maintaining a large core of year round and seasonal favorites, we strive to introduce new recipes that push the boundaries of flavor combinations and craft categories. Our latest dive in to hard seltzers has had an extreme impact on our company. We will quite possibly produce more seltzer than beer in 2021!
Odd Side has the flexibility to do what we are known for which is experimenting with new styles and flavors, and at the same time, meet the high volume demands of our customers!
Everyone at Odd Side Ales is here because they have a true love of the craft, the industry as a whole, and the people who drink and enjoy what we are able to produce each day!
It All Started Over Two Drinks.
For Tom, beer has always been about the other guy. For a decade-plus, he ran TwoGuys homebrew club, a passion project supporting aspiring brewers while deepening his knowledge of the craft.
But the other guy is bigger than beer. It’s our neighborhood. Our guests. You. We can make beer all day long but we need somebody to help us drink it. Care to lend a hand? We’ve got something for everybody from IPA’s to stouts, lagers, seltzers, and everything between. Stop in to toss back a trusty favorite or discover a one-off that introduces you to a new style. We promise we’ve never made a beer we wouldn’t drink.
Bell's Brewery began in 1985 with a quest for better beer and a 15 gallon soup kettle. True to our homebrew roots, we remain 100% family-owned and proudly independent. Whether it's a Two Hearted, Oberon, Official or another Bell's favorite, raise a glass with us to 35 years of inspired brewing!
